Scoping

Step 1

The first step is the Discovery (scoping).  This is the most critical phase of the project, and requires the project team to be assiduous in completing deliverables that will directly impact the success of future phases. 

The planning and deliverables completed here will lay the groundwork for the Build and User Acceptance and Training later - and ultimately success.  It becomes critical to understanding the requirements and size of the project.  This is the time to gather all the Scope of Work.

The Implemenation engineer (project manager) should review with sales everything that has been discussed.

1.  Scope of Work.

2.  Estimated Engineering Hours.

3.  Who are the main contacts or decision makers (stakeholders).

4.  What business problem the client/customer is trying to solve.

5.  Timelines.
